Description
Job Summary The DevOps group is responsible for leading the automation of all aspects of the software delivery pipeline, using the latest and most innovative technologies for on demand environment provisioning, CI/CD pipeline enablement, and software delivery. Reporting to the Manager of the DevOps group, the DevOps Engineer 2 works with other DevOps engineers, software developers and infrastructure engineers to assist in automating environment creation and building CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities encompass a blend of architecture, automation and development. Essential Functions Basic to intermediate understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud PaaS, IaaS and SaaS Services Implementation and Troubleshooting of Microsoft Azure Resources and Services Collaborate with other DevOps team members or work independently to write Infrastructure-as-code based automation using Hashicorp Terraform for Azure Cloud Provider Build CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps Using Powershell and Azure CLI, create and modify scripts to assist CI/CD development Partner with App Dev, QA and other Technology teams to automate manual processes Cultivate and operationalize a DevOps discipline within the organization Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, out-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity Facilitate the delivery of software that scales in a zero-downtime environment Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Equivalent experience 2+ years software development experience 2+ years automation experience using code-as-infrastructure products (Terraform preferred) 2+ years’ experience with cloud-based services (Azure experience preferred) Experience with Agile methodologies Experience with cultural transformation to CI/CD and DevOps Experience with Containers and Kumbernetes a plus Experience with Azure DevOps or other SDLC tools, Terraform and Powershell Experience in a start-up, fast-growth, rapid-change environment Must be self-motivated, dedicated to quality and must always strive to “do the right thing” Core Traits Takes initiative to complete critical tasks in a team setting; effortlessly navigates the inter-departmental structures to achieve success Works effectively in the face of stress, ambiguity, difficult situations, and shifting priorities all while championing the long-term architectural view; understands the need to shift focus and priorities as required and successfully leads others through periods of change Considers and implements novel approaches to tackle new issues/challenges in an aggressive manner; encourages the team to take advantage of self-directed learning opportunities; is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and leading others in a fast-paced, cutting-edge, and entrepreneurial environment Challenges the status quo to generate new ideas, is open to challenges, and implements unique solutions; focuses on the best outcome for the company, rather than on ego Demonstrates a bold commitment to the total alignment of actions, words, and professional beliefs.
