Job Summary:

Desktop Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for desktop/laptop systems (Windows-based), including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Install and configure operating systems (Windows 10/11) and required application software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues including

    BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)

    errors.
  • Set up and configure

    Microsoft Outlook

    accounts, including PST/OST file management and connectivity issues.
  • Administer and troubleshoot

    BitLocker

    encryption, recovery keys, and related security policies.
  • Install, configure, and update

    antivirus software

    ensuring systems are protected and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Respond to support tickets via service desk tools and ensure timely resolution and documentation.
  • Maintain asset inventory and update system records regularly.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Provide remote and on-site support as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 13 years of hands-on experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in

    Windows OS installation

    and configuration.
  • Experience with

    Microsoft Outlook setup

    , profile management, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of

    BitLocker

    drive encryption and recovery.
  • Familiarity with common

    antivirus software

    deployment and maintenance (e.g., Symantec, McAfee, Windows Defender).
  • Good understanding of

    BSOD errors

    and methods of diagnosis and resolution.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
