Desktop Support Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure optimal performance of desktop systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-level technical support for desktop hardware, software, and network issues.

Respond to support requests via phone, email, and in-person.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems and peripherals.

Assist in the deployment of software updates and patches.

Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system.

Collaborate with other IT staff to improve support processes and enhance user experience.

Conduct user training on software applications and best practices.

Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in a desktop support role or similar technical support position.

Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as common software applications.

Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Administrative Duties

Qualifications

• Education

o Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Skills and Knowledge
• Basic understanding of computer hardware components and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) is a plus.
• Any relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are advantageous but not required.

• Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
