Job Description

Responsible for the design, development, and release of all seating system related components
Responsibilities will include standardization plan development, interface with product design office, vehicle development, other Interior engineering teams, and suppliers to design, develop and release
Responsible for technical documentation to include DFMEAs & DVP&Rs
Work interactively within a cross-functional engineering, vehicle engineering, purchase, and plant teams on the greater benefit of the vehicle
Maintain EBOMs and manage data releases in accordance with program milestones
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of all seating system components for all milestones.
Responsible for quality improvements, cost reduction, and validation
Benchmarking, DFM, and DFA studies as and when required
Design Support for the virtual analysis teams to meet various Regulatory and test requirements Qualifications
B.E./B. Tech or M.E/ M. Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production and Industrial Engineering

Essential skills

Product design & development experience in automotive seating system components (Structures, foams, plastics & Jit components)
Must to have in depth Knowledge of Seat integration issue resolution and development with 4+ Yrs of experience
Working experience in component & system level designing
Proficiency in NX / CATIA along with Team center / Enovia PLM system
Good Knowledge in Manufacturing & Assembly feasibility study
Experience in component level and full vehicle DVP&R and DFMEA
Knowledge on foam, plastic molding, and sheet metal processes
Knowledge on seating system regulatory and certification requirements
Good in CAD modelling, technical report writing, timeline creation & management, and communication & presentation skills
Work experience with International Tier 1 and OEMS

Desired skills

Familiarity with GD&T and dimensional engineering
Knowledge of strength, durability, regulatory and safety requirements for seating system
Automation / customization in NX / CATIA activities Experience
