Job Title: Senior Design Engineer – SolidWorks (Retail Fixtures & Turnkey Projects) Location: Gurgaon Department: Design & Engineering Experience: 5–8 years preferred in retail fixture design, interiors, or turnkey projects Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Design Engineer with proven expertise in SolidWorks and retail fixture design. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, developing, and detailing innovative and functional solutions for retail interiors, display fixtures, and turnkey project requirements . The role demands a strong technical background, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks , AutoCAD, and related software. Create detailed production and assembly drawings for retail fixtures, modular furniture, and interior elements . Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and vendors to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with client requirements. Drive the design process from concept to execution, including prototyping, testing, and revisions. Review design specifications, material selection, and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and safety guidelines. Lead a team of junior designers and provide technical guidance and mentorship. Attend client meetings, interpret briefs, and translate them into workable design solutions. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output. Coordinate with vendors and fabrication teams to resolve design issues and improve efficiency. Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies relevant to retail and interior fit-outs . Key Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in SolidWorks-based design , preferably in retail fixtures, furniture design, or turnkey interiors . Proficiency in AutoCAD , Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other design tools. Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials (wood, metal, acrylic, etc.) , and ergonomics. Strong analytical, visualization, and communication skills. Experience in shop drawings, assembly details, and BOM generation . Ability to work under tight timelines with attention to detail and quality. Ambitious, proactive, and collaborative mindset with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities. Prior experience working in retail fit-out or interior turnkey project firms is highly desirable.
