Design Engineer - Solid Works

Subject: Design Engineer required for a reputed Multinational Auto Parts Company in Pune Dear Professionals I am Dharmambal from the Engineering Vertical of Masadir HR Services , an International Recruitment Firm. We have been retained by a professionally managed organisation to recruit Design Engineer for them. Role & responsibilities Manage the feasibility and costing process for new RFQs. • Create 3D and 2D CAD models and work with engineering teams on the design and development of pipes, flex bellows, clamps, pipe insulation, and mufflers. • Perform reverse engineering on OE samples to create 3D models and 2D drawings. • Apply GD&T principles in designs to meet manufacturing and functional requirements. • Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with the process and production teams to ensure optimal designs. • Coordinate specific tasks within customer projects or lead independent initiatives with guidance from managers. • Prepare and present design studies to internal and external customers. • Contribute to the improvement of product development and project processes. • Maintain and update technical documents, including method descriptions and data sheets. • Develop specialization in areas like design, simulation, or project management. • Creating BOMs for ERP System. • Use strong problem-solving skills to conduct design failure analysis and improve designs. Preferred candidate profile 3-4 years of experience in product design, preferably in automotive or exhaust systems. • Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. • Knowledge of materials, sheet metal manufacturing processes, and testing methods used in exhaust and piping systems. • Experience with exhaust system components (pipes, bellows, clamps, insulation, mufflers). • Familiarity with DFMEA and ECR-ECN processes.
