Design Engineer – Rubber Components

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled person to join our T R Rubber Private Limited team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the manufacturing of rubber products, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Rubber Technology
• Design Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years in rubber component design and development
• Preferably in rubber-to-metal bonded product manufacturing (railway/automotive sectors)

Key Responsibilities:

Design & CAD Modeling

• Design rubber-to-metal bonded components (Spheriblocs, bump stops, axle box bushes, etc.) based on:
• RDSO drawings
• Customer specifications
• Internal requirements
• Develop:
• 3D CAD models considering rubber deformation and dynamic behavior
• 2D detailed drawings for manufacturing and quality references

Tooling & Mould Design

• Create shrink-fit geometries, groove details, metal inserts
• Generate tooling drawings for mould design, section views, and die finalization
• Collaborate with Tool Room and Production for:
• Design reviews
• Pilot trials
• Tool validation

Simulation & Validation

• Use simulation software (preferably Abaqus / HyperWorks) for:
• Stress-strain analysis
• Fatigue and NVH behavior
• Load transfer and deformation mapping
• Validate bonding zones and rubber-metal interface durability

Documentation & Control

• Prepare and manage:
• Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Part numbers
• Revision-controlled drawings
• ECN/ECR records and change management docs
• Product specifications and design reports

Technical Support & Standards

• Assist during customer trials and technical approvals
• Provide design insights to QA/QC, NPD, and production teams
• Ensure compliance with:
• RDSO, ISO 3302, DIN 53505, ASTM standards
• GD&T, tolerancing, shrinkage and parting line considerations

Design Software & Tools

SolidWorks: 3D modeling and drafting

AutoCAD: 2D layout and production drawings

Abaqus / HyperWorks: Rubber part simulation and FEA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
