Role Summary/Purpose Engineering Technical Leader - FEA will play a key role of project management and leading execution of FEA for various subsystems. Essential Responsibilities Lead project management and execution of FEA/CFD projects for engineering team. Connect across engineering team and collaborate on planning and execution of FEA /CFD projects, collaborate with sub-section managers on analysis requirements, resource planning, etc. Interdependently lead the execution of FEA for various sub-systems like Cabs, platform, truck etc during different phases of projects like design and development, reliability solutions, etc. Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and Wabtec specifications in execution of FEA projects. Proactively work with Leadership to shape technology roadmap for the team leading to effectiveness and efficiency improvement. Collaborate with external partners on outsourcing of projects, creating clear scope of work, follow business processes on purchase request/PO for engagement, collaborate with finance team on invoicing the effort for external partners Ensure archival of projects using right tools, processes and documentation Act as a mentor for lesser experienced members in global team setup. Must lead multiple complex projects by adhering to Wabtec processes while meeting business standards and program / product requirements. Influence the technical direction for tools, techniques used for FEA Assure proper documentation of technical data generated and utilize same for training and effort optimization. Represent the team /business in technical matters to customers, regulatory agencies, consultants, cross functional teams. Take the FEA through technical reviews. Document the technical data consistent with Engineering policies and quality procedures. Interfacing with cross functional stakeholders across the organization. Qualifications/Requirements Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from reputed institute with 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience demonstrating expertise and experience in driving technical solutions using FEA, CFD. Experience in FEA of mechanical components, sub-systems for locomotive, rolling stock, light and heavy fabrication/ engineering industry will be an added advantage. Desired Characteristics 10-15 years hand on experience in FEA tools like Hyperworks, Ansys, Ansys workbench Deep interest in mechanical engineering and FEA for design and development Review projects and propose way forward for engineering calculations and guide the team according to calculations best practices. Able to take ownership and drive projects to conclusive closures. Should be able to perform structural analysis of metals, sheet metals using suitable material models. As the Engineering Services Lead, you must have a minimum of 7.5 years of experience in Aircraft Structural Analysis. Your educational qualification should include 15 years of full-time education. We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join our aerospace engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and optimizing aircraft structural components to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and performance specifications. Utilizing advanced engineering software and analytical methods, you will conduct structural analysis and stress evaluations. Your expertise in aerospace structural engineering, materials, structural mechanics, and finite element analysis tools will be crucial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Roles & Responsibilities: - Lead a team of 15+ engineers as the subject matter expert (SME) for structural analysis and stress evaluations - Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet customer expectations - Act as a technical customer liaison, providing guidance, mentoring, and feedback to team members - Support proposal development, effort estimation, and technical presentations to stakeholders - Drive continuous improvement initiatives in tools, processes, and methodologies - Prepare and review stress certification dossiers - Prior experience with A350/A350F and OEM tools/methods is preferred Professional & Technical Skills: - Proficiency in primary and secondary structural analysis for A320SA, A350, and A350F programs - Extensive experience in stress analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structures using various tools and methodologies - Strong leadership skills in managing teams and ensuring project milestones and quality standards are met - Hands-on experience with structural analysis and simulation software - Proficient in creating, validating, and condensing GFEM/DFEM models - Effective technical communication and coordination with customers - Mentoring and guiding team members, including delivering training sessions - Preparation and peer-review of stress certification dossiers in compliance with regulatory requirements - Additional skills in programming and proficiency in CATIA Additional Information: - 13+ years of aerostructure stress analysis experience - Based in Bengaluru Please note that a strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and certification requirements is essential for this role.
