Design Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings (2D/3D) for pipe fittings as per ASME, MSS-SP, DIN, or customer specifications.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) including size, thickness, material grade, and quantities.
• Revise and update drawings based on design improvements, production feedback, or client revisions.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA, and Production teams to ensure fabrication feasibility.
• Submit approval/G.A. drawings to customers and manage client drawing documentation.

Minor Responsibilities:

• Maintain proper records and revision history of drawings.
• Assist in model development and nesting layout if CNC tools are used.
• Help standardize drawing templates and CAD documentation practices.
• Ensure adherence to internal quality and CAD standards.
• Archive all versions of drawings (approved, rejected, revised) in a systematic format.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience:

  2–3 years in a relevant design role (preferably in pipe/tube fittings or fabrication industry).

• Education:

  Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

• Design Software:

  Proficient in

  AutoCAD (2D & 3D)

  ; knowledge of

  SolidWorks

  or

  Inventor

  is an added advantage.

• Technical Skills:

  Understanding of ASME B16.9, MSS-SP, and related piping codes and standards.

• Other Skills:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Good coordination and communication with cross-functional teams
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office
