Job Purpose:

To design, develop, and validate Low Voltage Transformers and Potential Transformers in line with international standards, customer requirements, and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and BOMs for LV Transformers & PTs.

Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical calculations.

Optimize design for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Standards & Compliance:

Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, IEEE, and customer-specific standards.

Support type test, routine test, and special test requirement compliance.

Prototyping & Validation:

Coordinate with production for prototype development.

Conduct design validation, testing, and root cause analysis in case of failures.

Documentation:

Prepare technical documents design reports, test reports, and design calculations.

Maintain proper revision control of drawings and design data.

Cross-functional Coordination:

Work with Quality, Purchase, and Manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.

Support Sales/Marketing with technical clarifications for tenders and customer queries.

Continuous Improvement:

Innovate on design improvements for efficiency, safety, and cost reduction.

Benchmark competitor products and new technologies.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of transformer design principles (magnetic circuits, insulation, thermal management).

Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks, Ansys/FEA tools preferred).

Familiarity with testing standards (IEC 60076, IEC 61869, IS standards).

Problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.

Good communication & teamwork skills.
