Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Review

• Review and interpret all engineering inputs including:

2D drawings, sketches, and design specifications

Reference images

Tolerances and material requirements

Existing CAD files (.ipt, .iam, .stp, .dwg)

• Clarify ambiguities and ensure complete understanding of modeling requirements.

2. 3D Part Modeling (Autodesk Inventor)

• Create precise, professional 3D part models using Autodesk Inventor (.ipt format).

• Apply parametric modeling techniques to ensure fully controlled, editable designs.

• Follow best modeling practices, including:

Fully constrained sketches

Clean, logical feature tree structure

Named parameters and dimension-driven modeling

Adaptive / non-adaptive modeling as required

• Apply correct material properties and ensure models are suitable for:

Assembly integration

Manufacturing workflows

Technical drawing creation (.idw/.dwg)

3. Quality & Standards Compliance

• Ensure models meet all dimensional, geometric, and engineering requirements.

• Maintain clean file organization, naming standards, and version control.

• Deliver models free of errors, over-constraints, or redundant features.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech) or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, tolerances, and

manufacturing processes.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

• Autodesk Inventor – strong 3D part modeling expertise.

• Experience working with parametric modeling, constraints, and feature-based design.

• Ability to interpret 2D drawings and convert them into manufacturable 3D models.

Preferred / Added Advantage:

• AutoCAD

• SolidWorks

• Experience with assemblies and drawings (.iam / .idw)

Soft Skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.
