Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. RFQ/RFI,SOR STUDY & Prepare Confirmitymatrix under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

2.Prepare Initial concepts(Study Styling & Environment data) & creation of BOM with tentative weights for Initial Costing under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

3.Prepare Initial drawings and documentations(Input check list,Initial Concept PPT including, Variant Matrix,Functional Details,TGW-TGR,Clearance study with Interfaces) under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

4.Making DFMEA, Support APQP for DVP preparation under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

5. Do the detail design of the product in catia with respect to finalised specifications., able to do assembly simulation as per the guidelines given by Senior design engineer/Manager.

6.Attend meeting with CFT ,suppliers and customer during design and product development phase & maintain MOM / Open issue list. Also keep the record of Design hours spent on respective programs.

7.Develop Rapid proto type parts(Inhouse / Outsource) & BOP, Get MOLD FLOW, FEA done from suppliers. Interpret the reports & implements the necessary changes. Generate part numbers under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

8.Basic Calculations like Effort, stroke under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

9.Co-ordinate with Tooling Team & toolmaker & Incorporate DFM and DFA as per manufacturing requirements.

10. Generating 2D drawings, 3D annotation as per ITW /Customer standards ,applying GD&T and Calculating Tolerance stackup under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

11.Fill check list and Release 3D & 2D data for soft tooling or serial tooling as applicable with release notes under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

12.Maintains the log of the Engineering changes and updates all the Bill Of Materials for the product designs.

13.Participate in Inspection,testing and validation of T0 parts and provide further direction for NG dimensions/Corrections and actions to mitigate the failures under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

14.Attend fittment trials and decide action plan as nessessory to meet assembly requirement on Master checker and vehical under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

15.Participate in 5S Activities

16.Review Gauge / Fixtures/ Masterbuck design made by APQP Team under the guidance of Sr.Engineer/Asst Manager/Manager

17.Maintain Folder structure with respect to ITW Guide lines.

18.Participate in applicable trainings

19. Participate in individual development plan for personal and professional growth.

20. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

21. Defines and drives values, ITW Business Model and decentralized culture of the organization with the leadership team.

Preferred candidate profile:

This hands-on Design Engineer roll will take ownership of the Product design.Understand and Analyze product design requirement of customer for Automotive Body Components.

Makes presentations of available data and give the input to Supervisor. Making DFMEA, DVP(Support) and identifying actions to mitigate the failures.Generating Concept Designs and to evaluating the Robust Concept which adds Value to the product.Create 3D CAD models, able to do assembly simulation and kinematics as per the guidelines given by principle design engineer. Maintain the Quality of data as per ITW standards/ Requirements.Attends meeting with customer during design and product development phase for clarification of DVP requirements.Generating 2D drawings, 3D annotation as per ITW standards, applying GD&T and Calculating Tolerance stack up.Maintains the log of the Engineering changes and updates all the Bill Of Materials for the product designs.Gives inputs during product design and after product development phases in projects for betterment of the product performance, Value engineering and Value creation.Participate in individual development plan for personal and professional growth.

Educational Qualification:

BE / Diploma- Mech / Diploma in Tool & Die Making /Post Diploma in Tool Design - NTTF.IGTR,GTTC , CIEPT etc.

Experience:

Similar experience of 1+ years in a manufacturing environment, must be from Automotive / Plastic industry, 2-3 Yrs On hand experience in CATIA V5.
