Shift Engineer

Job Function:

Performs the single function of supervising the production shift activities in a business unit. Participates in scheduling production and ensures adherence to production schedule. Ensures the production process flows without problems. Responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in a manufacturing department. Supervises hourly employees, maintains log of shift operations. Prepares overall production summaries, rejection and downtime reports.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Ensure Proper production based on production plan

2. Monitor and arrive at required metrics and ensure that the targets such as OEE, Yield, reduction in down time etc., are achieved.

3. Ensure 5S in shop floor

4. Working out the human and material resources needed

5. Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.

6. Ensure Cycle Time/ Yield/ Automation as per standard

7. Machine/Mold break down analysis and actions

8. Raw Material planning based on production plan and ensure proper reconciliation

9. Drive Quality Management processes like 5S, QC Tools, ISO- TS 16949 etc.,

10. Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.

11. Achieving OEE as per target in a shift

12.Handling internal customer complains and closing with proper action plan, Preparing 8D reports, Pareto analysis for customer complains, safety incident.

Must be from Automotive / Plastic industry
