Design Engineer

You will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Designing and developing 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. - Interpreting customer requirements, technical specifications, and product standards. - Preparing BOMs (Bill of Materials), GA drawings, and part drawings for manufacturing. - Working closely with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. - Modifying existing designs based on customer feedback or production improvements. - Participating in new product development, prototyping, and design validation. - Ensuring compliance with industry standards and engineering best practices. - Documenting design revisions, maintaining drawing records, and supporting design approvals. - Assisting in resolving shop floor issues related to design and providing technical support. - Contributing to cost reduction and design optimization initiatives. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD. - Understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances, and GD&T. - Ability to create part, assembly, and detailed manufacturing drawings. - Good knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and machining processes. - Experience in creating and maintaining BOMs and engineering documentation. - Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (optional but preferred). Preferred: - Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, automotive components, or special-purpose machines (SPM). - Exposure to design validation and FEA (basic knowledge is a plus). - Knowledge of manufacturing standards like ISO, ASME, etc. - Experience working in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). - Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
