Job Description – Design Engineer (Doctor Pumps)

Position: Design Engineer
Department: R&D / Product Engineering/ QC
Location: Pipaliya (Gondal – Rajkot Highway)
Industry: Pump Manufacturing (Industrial / Agricultural / Domestic Pumps)

Role Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving pump components and complete pump assemblies. The role involves working closely with Production, QC, and R&D teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, and reliable pump designs as per company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, monoblock pumps, and related components.
• Prepare and update 3D models & 2D drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design tools.
• Conduct design calculations, performance analysis, and engineering validations.
• Make improvements in existing product designs to enhance efficiency, performance, and durability.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure manufacturability of designs.
• Create and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials), technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Support prototype development, testing, and design modifications.
• Collaborate with QC, R&D, and Purchase departments for design feasibility and material selection.
• Ensure compliance with IS standards and internal design guidelines.
• Suggest cost-reduction ideas through optimized design and material usage.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues during production and testing.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in pump design (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of pump components, hydraulics, impellers, casing, and assemblies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD software.
