Job Description

As a Design Engineer - Mechanical (UK Water Projects) at Arcadis, you will be part of the Water Design and Engineering team, contributing your skills to various water and wastewater projects in the UK's water infrastructure and environment sector. You will collaborate with the MEICA team, reporting to the Technical Discipline Lead or Technical Director, to specify and design mechanical process plants that meet client expectations. Engaging with stakeholders and supporting business objectives will be essential in this role. **Key Responsibilities:** - Managing selected projects for the Water Mechanical team - Overseeing the production and verification of analysis and design, including drawings and reports - Allocating technical resources, ensuring quality assurance and effective client communication - Engaging with Arcadis Regional offices/teams on safe design requirements and risk management - Developing technical methodologies to add value to projects and guiding junior colleagues - Reviewing work, promoting a culture of accountability, and conducting interdisciplinary checks - Collaborating with other design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity - Providing technical advice to project team members and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards **Qualifications & Experience:** - Bachelor/Masters (B.Tech/M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering - 5 - 8+ years of relevant experience in design of water and wastewater treatment systems - Registered or accredited professional, preferably MIMechE with CEng/IEng - Knowledge of relevant British Standards and experience in working with remote clients - Excellent communication skills in English At Arcadis, we value each individual's contribution and believe in empowering our employees to be their best.
