Role Overview

Design Course Instructor

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver

  interactive lectures, workshops, and practical sessions

  on design topics (e.g., fundamentals of design, typography, color theory, design tools like Figma/Adobe Suite, UI/UX practices).
• Develop and maintain

  course curriculum

  including modules, lessons, assignments, and assessments in line with academy standards.
• Ensure

  course materials are accessible

  (captioned videos, tagged PDFs, alt text for images, etc.) to meet WCAG compliance.
• Provide

  individual feedback and mentoring

  to students on their design projects.
• Collaborate with the academic team to refine teaching methods and curriculum flow.
• Use the LMS to

  upload resources, grade assignments, track progress

  , and communicate with students.
• Stay updated with the

  latest design trends and tools

  to keep the curriculum relevant.
• Foster an

  inclusive and supportive learning environment

  for students of all abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

  Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field

  .
• 2–5 years of professional experience in design (UI/UX, graphic design, product design, or related roles).
• Prior

  teaching, training, or mentoring experience

  (academic or industry workshops preferred).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, tools, and processes.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in design tools:

  Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, InDesign), Sketch, Canva

  .
• Knowledge of

  design systems, wireframing, prototyping, and accessibility best practices

  .
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain

  complex design concepts in simple, practical terms

  .
• Strong organizational skills for

  curriculum planning and course delivery

  .
• Sensitivity and adaptability to the learning needs of PWD students.
