Role Overview: As a Project Manager specializing in Road & Highway projects, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of highway projects within the road infrastructure sector. Your experience should extend until the Certificate of Occupancy (COD) stage. Key Responsibilities: - System Design and Planning: Design irrigation systems tailored to specific crop needs and site conditions, including canals, pipelines, pumps, and control structures. - Construction and Implementation: Oversee the construction and installation of irrigation infrastructure, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards. - Water Management and Distribution: Manage water resources to optimize distribution for maximum crop yield while minimizing water wastage. - Maintenance and Rehabilitation: Assess existing irrigation systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary repairs or upgrades. - Environmental Considerations: Integrate environmental regulations and sustainability principles into irrigation system design and management. - Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data on soil conditions, water availability, and crop water requirements to inform system design and management. - Project Management: Manage project teams, budgets, and timelines for irrigation development and maintenance projects. - Collaboration and Communication: Work with farmers, agricultural specialists, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and operation of irrigation systems. - Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on irrigation best practices and emerging technologies. - Training and Capacity Building: Involved in training farmers and stakeholders on proper irrigation techniques and system maintenance. - Water Resource Management: Ensure efficient use of water resources, minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable irrigation practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 15-17 years of experience in similar projects.
