Job Description

Job Title: Lead/ Deputy Manager - Stores

Overall Functional Scope

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for Ensure a smooth operation of Stores function, Ensure the materials are stored as per storage procedures, Inventory and cycle count is done as per company policy, Co. ordinate with other functions like production and purchase and shipping departments for issue of materials to shop floor, receive materials as per Purchase order and ship materials as per sales orders.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate with Procurement functions for receiving materials and update the stocks in the system.
  • Ensure the materials are issued as per shop order/Job order as per shop orders.
  • Ensure the Finished goods are moved to storage area once the confirmation of the order is done.
  • Shipments are made against the correct sales order.
  • Ensure loading and unloading is done is a safe working environment.
  • Ensure material handling equipment's are used and maintained properly
  • Cycle count and inventory updates are done regularly.
  • All Materials are stored as per storage requirements of the materials
  • Shelf-life items are updated regularly.
  • Ensure all documents are maintained as per processes and procedures laid out from time to time according to company policy and statutory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate with Freight Forwarders
  • Co-ordinate with CHA and ensure the customs clearance takes place with all proper documentation
  • Negotiate with the freight forwarders for costs and transit times
  • Ensure the documents are filed in time by the CHA, and all necessary documents are prepared and given toCHA
  • Accounting of material received against system orders

Technical skills and competencies

  • Knowledge of stores processes and procedures.
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge on Commercials with regard to taxes and duties
  • Import and export procedures
  • Knowledge of storage requirements for storing materials
  • Knowledge in Material handling equipment requirements.
  • Knowledge in stores layouts
  • Knowledge on quality systems with regard to stores

Years of Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Consumer Industry

Educational Background

  • Graduate with 8 to 10 Years of experience in managing stores, and handled logistics function.
