Deputy Manager - Senior Application Engineer - Automotive Industry

Role & responsibilities

• Review new

  RFQs

  and choose suitable

  product designs

  based on function, durability, and packaging.
• Understand

  Voice of Customer (VOC)

  and translate requirements into product specifications.
• Act as the

  technical interface with customer engineering teams

  and provide design solutions.
• Develop & test

  prototypes

  ; prepare

  DFMEA

  ,

  DRBFM

  , validation plans, test procedures, and engineering specifications.
• Conduct

  electrical/electronic system testing

  for performance and feasibility.
• Research latest technologies to define

  design parameters

  for new systems.
• Recommend improvements to

  existing designs

  for better performance and durability.
• Deliver

  manufacturing specifications

  and support production teams.
• Participate in

  warranty analysis

  , identify root causes, and resolve application concerns.
• Perform

  Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  for design-related issues.
• Support

  VAVE / cost optimization

  activities for product improvement.
• Build strong

  customer relationships

  and remain updated on latest vehicle technologies.

• Willingness to travel

  for customer meetings, vehicle testing, and warranty reviews.

Preferred candidate profile

• 10 to15 years experience in Application Engineering & Product Development

  in the

  Automotive industry

  (OEM or Tier-1

  mandatory

  ).
• Experience in handling

  HV Electrical & Power electronic devices.

• Experience in

  EV / E-Motor architecture and operation

• Willingness to travel to customer location at any time to participate in Vehicle testing, Project specific discussion and warranty review across India.
• Knowledge on Controllers & CAN communication devices
• Experience in system integration skills in vehicle and components.
• Understanding on thermal management and thermodynamics is an added advantage in addition to experience and knowledge in bearings, Aluminum castings and lubricants
• Good working knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes and materials.
• Required Good analytical skills for designing and analyzing components and its sub-system.
• Experience in APQP is preferred
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis is preferred
• Excellent drive for results with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completion
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills required
