Deputy Manager

Job Title: Deputy Manager NPD Quality

• Lead quality planning activities for new product development from prototype to mass production.
• Review and validate product drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Execute APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and related NPD quality documentation.
• Conduct first-article inspection (FAI) and ensure measurement accuracy, capability studies, and approval from customers.
• Ensure smooth transition of NPD projects into regular production with stable quality performance.

2. Customer Interaction & Compliance

• Act as the primary point of contact for all NPD quality discussions with customers.
• Address customer feedback, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support customer audits and ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO standards).

3. Quality Systems & Process Improvement

• Strengthen NPD quality processes, inspection plans, and testing protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools like 7QC Tools, Lean, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke.
• Monitor quality KPIs such as rejection rate, PPM, COPQ, and implement improvement action plans.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Design, Production, Tool Room, Purchase & Supplier Quality teams to resolve quality issues during NPD.
• Support vendor development activities by validating incoming materials and components for new projects.
• Participate in feasibility reviews, tooling trials, and sample approvals.

5. Team Leadership & Reporting

• Lead, train, and mentor the NPD quality team members.
• Prepare detailed reports on trial results, capability studies, and NPD quality performance.
• Ensure timely submission of documentation to both internal management and external customers.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, SPC, and automotive quality systems.
• Experience in extrusion/plastics/automotive manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency in measurement systems, gauges, CMM, and inspection equipment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and customer-handling ability.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification:

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or related engineering field.
