Job Title: Deputy General Manager (Operations)
Department: OperationsReports To: Senior Business ManagerLocation: Sahakar Nagar, A - Block, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560092Employment Type: Full-time Position OverviewThe General Manager Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for all interior design and fit-out projects across residential and commercial segments, with a primary focus on the residential portfolio. This role ensures that all projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in alignment with company objectives, quality standards, and client expectations. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams, establish robust operational systems, and drive continuous improvement across all business functions to achieve sustainable growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities1. Operational Management

  • Oversee end-to-end operations of residential and commercial interior design projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality parameters.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for design, procurement, and project execution.
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs and ensure corrective measures are taken to achieve desired results.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and allocate resources effectively to meet business priorities.

2. Residential Project Leadership

  • Lead the execution of premium residential interior design projects, ensuring superior craftsmanship, material quality, and attention to client requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, and contractors to ensure the design vision is accurately translated into execution.
  • Ensure adherence to the companys standards of design excellence and client satisfaction in all residential projects.


3. Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage operation lets, forecasts, and project financial plans.
  • Monitor project profitability, cost control, and cash flow performance.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely billing, vendors, and financial reporting.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies without compromising on quality and project delivery standards.

4. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary operations team comprising project managers, site engineers, procurement, and support staff.
  • Define clear performance objectives, conduct periodic performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Identify training needs and implement professional development initiatives to enhance team capability.

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the senior operational representative for client relationships, ensuring effective communication, transparency, and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals and contractual obligations.
  • Address and resolve operational challenges and escalations promptly.
  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating & on boarding vendors, suppliers, contractors who are suitable to execute the projects as per the company standards.

6. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all projects comply with company standards, legal requirements, and health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance frameworks and conduct regular project audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence and quality enhancement.

7. Strategic Planning & Business Growth

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the companys strategic plans and long-term operational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvement, efficiency gains, and technological innovation.
  • Support the leadership team in evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Development of SOPs for quality checks, client communications, and team Quality training.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Operations Management, Project Management, or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
  • 1015 years of progressive experience in the interior design or fit-out industry, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership capacity.
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale residential and commercial interior projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, resource management, and process optimization.

  • Drive innovation in operations & be abreast to all the industry operational standards. Oversee & coordinate the implementation of technology solutions.


RemunerationCompensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and the scope of responsibility associated with the role.
