Deputy Director Policy Advocacy Government Affairs

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Government Liaison & Policy Engagement

• Build and sustain strategic relationships with policymakers, senior government officials (including ministerial-level), and key stakeholders in the Departments of Manufacturing, Foreign Embassies, and High Commissions.
• Represent the organization in key government and industry forums to advocate for policy initiatives aligned with industry interests.

2. Policy Advocacy

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive advocacy strategies and campaigns to influence policy changes at the state and national levels.
• Monitor policy developments, regulatory changes, and government initiatives that impact the sector and proactively shape responses.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Engage with internal teams, member organizations, and external partners to align on policy priorities and position papers.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for industry representation, white papers, and policy briefs.

4. Representation & Communication

• Act as the spokesperson in external policy forums, media interactions, and government consultations.
• Draft reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.

5. Strategic Planning

• Provide strategic inputs to the leadership for long-term policy roadmaps.
• Identify new opportunities for policy partnerships, funding, and collaborative programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in policy advocacy, government affairs, or public administration.
• Proven track record of working with senior government officials and policymakers.
• Strong understanding of the Indian policy landscape, especially in the manufacturing and trade sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong networking, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• The position requires strategic thinking, deep policy knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills.
