Job Description

As an Automation System Engineer at Emerson, your primary responsibilities will include: - Designing system architecture, assigning I/O to controllers, and defining software concepts, configuration guidelines, and testing procedures. - Implementing and testing third-party interfaces, creating interface protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC), and developing software libraries encompassing logic and graphics. - Crafting project-specific software solutions, conducting software tests to ensure quality standards, and developing I/O and core control modules. - Implementing customized logic solutions, designing user interface graphics for system monitoring, and creating internal test plans. - Leading FAT sessions with customers, designing HW-SW integration plans, and identifying project risks and issues. - Assisting the Lead Engineer/Project Manager in project execution, mentoring small teams, and training junior engineers. - Developing "As Built" documentation, conducting SAT at customer locations, and providing commissioning support. - Taking ownership of work, leading subordinates efficiently, and preparing commissioning progress reports. In addition, you will need: - 4-8 years of experience in process control and automation, with a background in DCS design and commissioning. - Experience in DCS design and engineering projects, preferably in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Refineries, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Petrochemicals. Preferred qualifications that set you apart: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites. - Openness to domestic and international travel for assignments.
