– Database maintenance: Performing routine administrative tasks such as starting and stopping
database instances, managing tablespaces and storage, and creating and maintaining database objects. Monitoring and performance: Conducting daily health checks of the Oracle environment and monitoring database performance and capacity. This includes checking logs and using basic monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Backup and recovery: Assisting in and performing basic backup and recovery operations using Oracle’s Recovery Manager (RMAN). This includes verifying and testing recovery procedures to prevent data loss. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving basic database issues and incidents and escalating complex problems to senior DBAs or other teams. Security and user management: Managing database user accounts, roles, and privileges to ensure data security and control access. Patching and upgrades: Assisting with the application of database patches and minor version upgrades under supervision. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures – Experience in database backup, restoration, recovery using RMAN, datapump etc. – Experience in database monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager – Experience in automation using Shell scripts, Perl, Python, Ansible etc – Experience in any ticketing tool like Servicenow etc. Should have knowledge of incident creation, assignment, closure etc. – Should adhere to SLA in the customer environments – Good to have knowledge in Oracle Golden Gate and OS administration (Linux, Solaris) – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Ability to work under pressure – quick thinking and remaining calm during stressful situations – Willingness to work in rotational shifts and on weekends from office – Appetite to learn new technologies and constantly improve technical skills. – Academics: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/M.C.A/M.Sc(Computers/IT) – Work location is Mumbai only, domain is Banking.
