Database Administrator

A Database Administrator (DBA) who's expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining application databases, ensuring data security, integrity, and performance.

Key skills involve proficiency in SQL, database performance tuning, managing backups and recovery, and an understanding of mobile-specific cloud platforms like AWS RDS or DynamoDB. This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with app developers to optimize database interactions and support application functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development:Creating and implementing database schemas, data models, and overall database architecture for the phone application.
• Performance Tuning:Monitoring database performance and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and indexing to ensure efficient data retrieval and application responsiveness.
• Security and Access Control:Designing and implementing robust security measures, including user access controls, authentication, and data encryption to protect sensitive data.
• Backup and Recovery:Performing regular backups and developing disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and protect against data loss.
• Maintenance and Monitoring:Proactive management of database health, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Collaboration:Working closely with application development teams to integrate database requests into the app and provide guidance on database best practices.
• Cloud Environment Management:Expertise in managing cloud-native database services commonly used for mobile applications, such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB, including their deployment and maintenance.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL and other relevant data manipulation languages.
• Experience with relational (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud-specific database services (e.g., AWS RDS, DynamoDB).
• Understanding of database design principles and data modeling.
• Skills in performance tuning and optimization.
• Expertise in backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.

Application-Specific Focus

• Application DBAs:Specialists who focus on the database support for specific applications, understanding the nuances of how the application interacts with the database.
• Data Consistency:Ensuring that data remains consistent across the database, especially critical for mobile apps with real-time data needs.
• Test Data Management:Providing and refreshing test data for the application development team, which is a common task for application DBAs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
