Data QA Engineer/ Analyst

Role Summary

We’re seeking a mid‑level Data QA Engineer to support data quality validation across our Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance data ecosystem. You’ll work with SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI to ensure accurate, reliable data for underwriting, claims, actuarial, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate ETL/ELT pipelines in

  Azure Data Factory

  for policy, claims, billing, and underwriting data
• Write and execute advanced

  SQL

  queries for data reconciliation and transformation testing
• Test

  Power BI

  datasets, models, and DAX calculations used for P&C analytics
• Perform data profiling, anomaly detection, and root‑cause analysis
• Validate data mapping between source systems (e.g., policy admin, claims platforms) and the data warehouse
• Document test cases, defects, and data quality rules
• Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, actuaries, and business SMEs

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in

  Data QA / ETL Testing / BI Testing

• Strong SQL skills (joins, window functions, reconciliation logic)
• Hands‑on experience testing

  ADF

  pipelines and dataflows
• Experience validating

  Power BI

  datasets, visuals, and DAX
• Understanding of P&C insurance data (policy, claims, premiums, losses, exposures)
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (ETL, star schema, SCD)
• Experience with Azure DevOps, or similar tools

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Azure SQL, ADLS, Synapse
• Experience with Guidewire & other P&C core systems
• Automated data testing tools
