Data Governance Specialist

As a Data Governance Specialist at Collibra, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Collibra Data Catalog, Data Dictionary, and Business Glossaries. Your role will involve implementing and supporting data quality rules, custom lineage stitching, and metadata ingestion processes. Additionally, you will participate in workflow creation and configuration within Collibra, collaborating with business stakeholders to maintain high-quality metadata. It is essential to apply data governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance with standards such as GDPR and HIPAA. Supporting data lifecycle initiatives from creation to archival and working cross-functionally in a Scrum/Agile environment are also key responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Collibra, preferably in a data steward role, and a minimum of 3 years in a data governance team or function. A strong understanding of data management, data lineage, and best practices in data quality is crucial. Your experience should also include metadata management, lineage stitching, and automating data processes. Excellent communication skills, both technical and business-facing, will be essential for effective collaboration. While not mandatory, it would be beneficial to have experience or understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and Collibra certifications such as Ranger or Expert. Exposure to tools like Informatica, Azure Purview, Alation, or Tableau would also be advantageous in this role.
