Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Location: Remote Experience Required: 6+ Years Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with over 6 years of experience to join our growing data team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning applications. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, deep knowledge of modern data platforms, and a passion for solving complex data challenges. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and manage scalable and reliable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing. Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading from various sources. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance across all stages of data processing. Implement and maintain data warehousing solutions using platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar. Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and perform root cause analysis on production issues. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices, standards, and documentation. Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the data engineering ecosystem. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role. Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java. Proficiency with SQL and performance tuning of complex queries. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Luigi). Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering. Exposure to data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Atlas, Alation). Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
