Data Consultant – Data Governance

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance
• Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to align data requirements with business objectives
• Monitor and guide data management practices across the organization
• Facilitate data governance meetings and workshops to promote stewardship and accountability
• Create and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata repositories
• Support the implementation of data management tools and technologies to improve governance capabilities
• Contribute to initiatives involving data lineage and reference data management
  

Mandatory Skills (Top 5)

• Strong knowledge of data management and data governance frameworks, metadata, and data quality management
• Hands-on experience with IGC, IA, Alation, Bigeye
• Expertise in Data Catalog / Governance tools such as Alation or Collibra
• Solid understanding of SQL and Advanced SQL
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
  

Good To Have

• Certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP)
• Basic scripting or automation skills (Python / Shell)
• Knowledge of ETL / ELT processes
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau)
