The Amazon Data Centre Engineering Operation ( DCEO ) team is seeking a strong technical expert in electrical/mechanical/control and firefighting system as a DCEO Facility Manager in India Infra operation team. Responsibilities of the Facility Manager for India region are to support ADSIPL within its owned and operated Data Centers in India. This position will provide a central point of ownership and accountability for the overall hands-on management of the Mechanical, Electrical (ME) and across ADSIPL s portfolio of Data Centers in India. This position will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the critical infrastructure supporting IT operations within the Indian Data Center space. It will also include event management, incident management, problem management, change management, and cost/contract management. In addition, this will include the relationship management with the landlords, critical facility vendors, Data Center Construction team, Data Center Operations team, Technical Program Managers, Security team, and Logistics team in India. The position will require 24x7 on-call, scheduled weekend work support and managing rotational shift. A Data Center Operations Manager holds a critical leadership position overseeing multiple availability zones, typically managing 2-4 data center locations and a team of at least six direct reports including shift engineers, technicians, and chief engineers. This role combines strategic facility management with hands-on technical oversight of critical infrastructure systems. The manager ensures optimal performance of essential systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability. They are responsible for both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning, including facility build-outs, efficiency improvements, and capacity management. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage remote teams, coordinate with IT managers and business leaders, and oversee vendor relationships. Financial acumen is essential for conducting analyses, managing assets, and contributing to business decisions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent communication abilities, superior organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards while driving accountability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. They should possess deep technical expertise in data center operations and best practices, combined with the ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate for this position should possess an engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering Track record of over 10 years managing large-scale technical services. A minimum of three years experience in building and leading high-performing technical teams is essential, demonstrating the ability to cultivate and maintain a positive team culture. The role demands someone with exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with good communication skills across all mediums. The candidate must have demonstrated success in managing complex projects from inception to completion, with proven experience in leading mission-critical operations or products. A highly accomplished professional with a Masters degree/E- MBA or higher in electrical engineering, backed by over 12 years of extensive design experience in power generation and distribution systems. Demonstrates expertise in construction, operation, and maintenance of generation plants and substations, complemented by a solid foundation in mechanical equipment and system design principles. Proven track record in managing fast-track design/build projects and major facility upgrades, with particular emphasis on large-scale utility plant design. Known for maintaining exceptional quality standards. Consistently upholding high standards, demonstrating thorough attention to detail, and fostering open communication to facilitate successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders .
