We are hiring for Assistant Manager Customs – Air & Sea Import

Department: Logistics / Freight Forwarding / Customs Clearance

Location: Chennai

Reports To: Assistant Manager Import Operations

Qualification: Graduate in Commerce / Logistics / International Trade or related field. Diploma in EXIM/Logistics preferred.

Experience: 3–5 years in customs coordination for both air and sea imports.

Salary range: 3 to 6 LPA

Key Responsibilities:

EDI filing Customs Documentation

o Prepare, verify, and submit all required customs documentation (Bill of Entry, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, Airway Bill/Bill of Lading, etc.).

o Ensure HS code classification and valuation are correct as per customs rules.

* Coordination:

o Liaise with CHA (Customs House Agents), shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and transporters.

o Coordinate with clients for necessary documents and clarifications.

o Follow up with customs and other regulatory authorities to expedite clearances.

* Compliance & Regulations:

o Stay updated with the latest customs regulations, duty structures, import-export policies, and schemes (e.g., EPCG, Advance Authorization).

o Ensure full compliance with DGFT, Customs Act, and related government authorities.

* Knowledge:

o Strong understanding of Indian customs procedures and regulations.

o Familiarity with ICEGATE, EDI systems, and other portals (eSanchit, DGFT).

o Knowledge of FTAs, preferential duty schemes, and import duties.
