Cricket Coach

Reporting To: Director, Heartfulness International Sports Academy (HISA)

The Cricket Coach is responsible for the comprehensive, holistic development of student-athletes within the Academy’s cricket programs. This role requires technical expertise, a passion for mentorship, and an alignment with the Heartfulness values of discipline, sportsmanship, and inner well-being.

Key Responsibilities
1. Coaching & Player Development

• Skill Instruction: Plan, design, and deliver high-quality, result-oriented coaching sessions focusing on all facets of cricket: batting, bowling (pace and spin), fielding, and wicket-keeping.
• Tactical & Strategic Planning: Develop effective game plans, strategies, and tactics for various formats (T20, One-Day, Multi-Day) across different age groups, including match-day management for tournaments.
• Performance Analysis: Utilize modern technology, including video analysis and statistical data, to assess individual and team performance, providing constructive, actionable, and data-backed feedback to players.
• Fitness Integration: Work closely with the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) team to integrate sports-specific fitness, agility, and injury-prevention programs into the daily training schedule.

2. Mentorship & Holistic Growth

• Mentorship: Act as a mentor, fostering a culture of discipline, dedication, team spirit, and sportsmanship in alignment with Heartfulness principles.
• Mental Conditioning: Promote and integrate mindfulness and mental resilience techniques (in collaboration with the HISA wellness team) to enhance focus, pressure management, and overall psychological well-being of the athletes.
• Team Management: Oversee the selection, management, and continuous mentorship of academy and team rosters for various inter-academy, state, and national-level competitions.
• Nutritional Guidance: Provide basic, evidence-informed advice on sports nutrition and hydration to support training and rapid recovery.

3. Administration & Compliance

• Program Management: Plan and manage the annual cricket calendar, including pre-season training camps, in-season competition cycles, and off-season skill maintenance programs.
• Safety: Ensure the training environment and equipment are safe, well-maintained, and comply with all regulatory standards.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of player progress, performance metrics, attendance, and fitness assessments, reporting findings to the Academy Director.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Certification: Minimum BCCI Level 1/2 Coaching Certification or equivalent international qualification is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional coaching experience in Cricket at a competitive level (State, University, First-Class, or a recognized Academy).
• Knowledge: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of modern cricket techniques, rules, biomechanics, and coaching methodologies.
• Leadership: Proven ability to motivate, lead, and manage teams and develop young talent.
