Creative Embroidery Designer

✨ About the Role

We are looking for a highly creative and technically strong Embroidery Designer to lead the creation of innovative swatches and concepts for luxury and contemporary womenswear markets. This role will be central to developing seasonal embroidery collections and setting a fresh creative direction for Sabpam, aligning our artisanal strength with global trends.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design seasonal embroidery swatches based on defined themes, trends, and buyer needs
• Research embroidery techniques, materials, and surface development directions suitable for luxury and contemporary fashion markets
• Create detailed embroidery layouts (manual or CAD-based) to communicate concepts to artisans clearly
• Work closely with karigars, sampling teams, and fabric vendors to execute innovative embroidery swatches
• Maintain a swatch development tracker with costing, materials used, and time estimates
• Assist in developing embroidered garment samples/mockups for lookbooks and client presentations
• Collaborate with the creative director , VP & sales team to develop buyer-facing collections and pitch decks
• Stay updated with runway trends, embroidery innovations, and sustainable embellishment practices
• Participate in internal reviews, brainstorming, and moodboard development
• Support the planning of fashion trade shows and buyer meetings as needed

🧠 Ideal Candidate Profile

• 2–6 years of experience in embroidery design or surface ornamentation
• Strong understanding of embroidery techniques (e.g., aari, zardozi, sequins, beading, appliqué, cutwork, 3D textures, threadwork)
• Ability to translate concepts into swatches and garment-ready embellishments
• Creative mindset with a good balance of trend awareness and artisanal sensibility
• Familiarity with luxury, contemporary, and resortwear markets
• Proficiency in design tools (Photoshop/Illustrator/CorelDRAW is a plus)
• Hands-on experience in working with craftsmen and sampling teams
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Passion for craft innovation and design originality
