Position Overview

Costing & Business Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Costing & Profitability Analysis

• Develop and maintain detailed

  cost sheets

  for all pathology tests (routine, advanced, molecular, histopathology, imaging, etc.).
• Conduct

  per-test cost analysis

  including reagents, consumables, manpower, depreciation, and overheads.
• Regularly evaluate

  gross margin and contribution per test / per department

  .
• Identify

  low-margin tests

  and propose corrective actions (bundling, outsourcing, or price revision).

2. Pricing & Business Models

• Design and update

  B2C rate cards

  with competitive yet profitable pricing.
• Prepare

  B2B corporate pricing, doctor referrals, hospitals tie-ups, and aggregator models

  with volume-based discounts.
• Draft

  pricing strategies for MOUs

  with institutions (schools, corporates, hospitals) ensuring profitability safeguards.
• Analyse competitor pricing trends and prepare

  benchmarking reports

  .

3. Business & Cost Optimization

• Identify opportunities for

  cost reduction

  in consumables, reagents, logistics, manpower utilization, and outsourcing.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for

  bulk procurement rates

  .
• Propose automation and workflow improvements to reduce wastage and improve turnaround time (TAT).
• Perform

  break-even analysis

  for new equipment, collection centres, or test launches.

4. Reporting & Advisory

• Prepare

  monthly profitability dashboards

  (department-wise, B2B vs B2C, high-volume vs low-volume tests).
• Present

  financial insights

  to management for strategic decision-making.
• Support business expansion by preparing

  financial feasibility reports

  for new centres, equipment, and services.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation, and ISO/NABL financial record requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA (Cost & Management Accountant), or MBA (Finance/Accounting)

  preferred.
• Bachelor’s in

  Commerce/Accounting/Finance

  with strong costing background may be considered.

Experience:

• 3–7 years in

  business accounting / costing

  , preferably in

  healthcare, diagnostics, hospital, or pharma industry

  .
• Proven track record in

  cost control, pricing models, and business profitability analysis

  .

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in

  Excel, Tally, ERP , SAP costing software

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  MIS reporting, variance analysis, ABC costing, and financial modelling

  .
• Familiarity with

  ISO 15189 / NABL requirements

  for financial documentation (preferred).

Behavioural Skills:

• Strong

  analytical and negotiation skills

  .
• Ability to

  communicate complex financial insights

  to clinicians and management.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and business growth–oriented mindset.
