Cost Estimator

The ideal candidate will have experience in calculating material quantity & estimating costs for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule. The Construction Cost Estimator will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to prepare detailed cost estimates and provide financial insights that support project planning and execution.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on

blueprints, specifications, and site inspections.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and

quantify the required materials and labor.

• Develop cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Assess project risks and develop cost-effective solutions to mitigate potential issues.

2. Budget Management:

• Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking costs and expenses throughout the

construction process.

• Monitor and analyze budget variances and prepare reports for project managers and

stakeholders.

• Provide recommendations for cost control and budget adjustments as necessary.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of estimates, financial transactions.
• Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and updates to project managers and

clients.

• Ensure all cost estimates and financial reports are compliant with company standards

and industry regulations.

4. Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to

ensure alignment on project scope and objectives.

• Provide technical support and cost-related advice to the project team.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on cost estimates and budget status.

5. Market Research:

• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor

rates.

• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and industry

professionals.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a

related field.

2. Proven experience as a Cost Estimator or in a similar role within the construction

industry.

3. Proven experience in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for various types

of construction projects.

4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation

techniques.

5. Proficiency in estimating software of industry, AutoCAD, Revit, sketchup, Microsoft

Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

6. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

7. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients,

subcontractors, and team members.

9. Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Certifications (preferred but not required):

1. Certification as a Professional Estimator (e.g., AACE International or ASPE) is a plus.

2. LEED Accreditation or similar sustainability certification is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

1. Full-time position, in a fast-paced environment.

2. Ability to visit factory, construction sites, perform site inspections, and navigate various site conditions only when required.

3. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on design and analysis tasks.

4. May require occasional overtime.

5. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.

6. Personal laptop is essential for this role.
