Cost Estimator

Job overview:

We are looking for a motivated Cost Estimator with around 2-3 years of relevant experience. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, helping with tender submissions, coordinating with other teams, and ensuring the financial feasibility of work. Under guidance from senior estimators or project leads, you will gain exposure to the full estimating process and sharpen your analytical and technical skills.

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in cost estimating (construction / manufacturing / relevant sector).
• Good ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (forming cost spreadsheets, formulas), plus any costestimating software if used.
• Basic knowledge of local material rates, labour rates; procurement practices.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, accuracy.
• Good communication skills (verbal & written) to interact with vendors, subcontractors, internal teams.
• Ability to manage time, work under supervision, and meet estimate deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review architectural, structural, MEP drawings & specifications to understand scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labour, equipment etc.
• Prepare cost estimates / budgets for projects (tender estimates, job cost estimates).
• Research and gather price data for materials, labour rates, equipment, subcontractors.
• Preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and work with procurement/vendor teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers to clarify scope or resolve ambiguities.
• Update estimates whenever project scope or drawings change.
• Track actual project costs vs estimates, analyse variances, suggest cost control or optimization options.
• Maintain estimation templates, databases, historical cost records.
• Assist in preparing proposals / bids and documentation.
