Cosmetic Development Expert

The Cosmetic Development Expert will lead the development, testing, and scale-up of innovative beauty formulations. This role spans R&D, marketing, and manufacturing, with a focus on creating high-performance, low-irritation products tailored to Indian consumers. Responsibilities include ingredient research, formulation, and validation, in collaboration with external labs across Asia.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in cosmetic chemistry and pharmaceuticals, with expertise in pigment dispersion, active stability, and texture aesthetics. Scientific curiosity, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to adapt global trends to local needs are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

•       Design and develop innovative beauty products, ensuring compatibility of active ingredients, pigments, and delivery systems for optimal performance and stability.

•       Stay updated on the latest trends, ingredients, and technologies in cosmetics and skincare to create cutting-edge formulations that meet consumer demands.

•       Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product safety, efficacy, and compliance with Indian and international regulatory standards.

•       Collaborate with manufacturing teams to transition formulations from lab-scale to commercial production, ensuring consistency and quality.

•       Ensure formulations comply with Indian regulatory requirements (e.g., Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940) and global standards, including ingredient safety and labelling.

•       Maintain detailed records of formulations, testing protocols, and manufacturing processes per Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 22716 standards.

•       Incorporate sustainable, locally sourced, and eco-friendly ingredients, such as natural oils, herbal extracts, into formulations where possible.

Qualifications

• Education

Experience:

-       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cosmetic formulation, preferably in beauty products.

-       Hands-on experience in developing emulsions, suspensions, and anhydrous formulations.

-       Proven track record in scaling formulations from lab to production.

-       Training in GMP and/or ISO 22716 standards for cosmetics manufacturing.
