Job Description

As a Construction Project Manager at Cognizant Technology Solutions in Chennai, you will play a critical role in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, specifically focusing on Interior Fit Outs within our real estate function. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our office spaces are constructed to the highest standards, delivered on time, and within budget, while strictly adhering to all regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities will include developing detailed project plans encompassing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to facilitate successful project execution. You will be responsible for leading and managing construction teams, which include contractors, subcontractors, and site workers, offering guidance and support to achieve project objectives. Quality control will be a core aspect of your role, where you will implement and uphold quality control procedures to ensure that all construction work aligns with the company's standards and specifications. Identifying potential risks and devising mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and safety will be another crucial part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as architects, interior designers, and facilities management to integrate their requirements into construction plans effectively. Managing relationships with external vendors and suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of materials and services within budget constraints will also fall under your purview. Ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, monitoring project progress, conducting regular site inspections, and providing updates to senior management are essential components of your role. As challenges arise during the construction process, you will be expected to address and resolve them promptly. Additionally, incorporating sustainable construction practices and materials to promote environmental responsibility will be encouraged in your approach.
