Oracle Core DBA

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
Monitor database health using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools.
Apply patches, perform upgrades, and manage database security.
Troubleshoot database issues, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for schema design and deployment.
Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or PL/SQL.
Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

7+ years of experience as an Oracle Core DBA.
Strong expertise in Oracle 11g/12c/19c on Linux/Unix environments.
Proficient in RMAN, Data Guard, ASM, OEM, and Oracle RAC.
Solid understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
Experience with database cloning, refreshes, and migration.
Knowledge of Oracle licensing, auditing, and compliance.
Scripting skills (Shell, PL/SQL) for automation and monitoring.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
Experience with Oracle on cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure).
Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Proactive attitude and attention to detail.
