Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Core DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, integrity, security, and availability across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Performance Tuning:
Monitor and optimize database performance using tools and techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and resource management.
Backup & Recovery:
Implement and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high availability solutions.
Security:
Ensure database security through access controls, encryption, and auditing.
Monitoring & Alerts:
Set up proactive monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve issues quickly.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues including outages, slow queries, and replication errors.
Automation:
Develop scripts and tools to automate routine DBA tasks.
Documentation:
Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Collaboration:
Work closely with development, infrastructure, and application teams to support business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience as a Core DBA.
Strong expertise in one or more RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting.
Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., OEM, Nagios, SolarWinds).
Knowledge of replication, clustering, and high availability setups.
Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
AWS Certified Database Specialty
