Key Responsibilities

• Edit and polish reporter copy for accuracy, clarity, and flow.
• Craft sharp, catchy headlines, captions, and intros.
• Package stories with designers for

  Page 1, City, Nation, and World

  .
• Track wires, social media, and news sites for breaking updates.
• Enrich stories with data, facts, and context relevant to readers.
• Proof and release error-free pages on tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience

  in

  print journalism

  (daily newspaper or tabloid preferred).
• Strong command of English with proven

  copy editing

  experience.
• Skilled at writing

  catchy, tabloid-style headlines

  .
• Deep awareness of

  city, state, national, and international news

  .
• Familiarity with newsroom deadlines and page-making tools (InDesign/QuarkXPress preferred).
• Based in

  Mumbai

  (or strong knowledge of the Mumbai market).
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver clean, sharp copy

  without AI tools
