Role Summary

Cook/Chef

This position is essential to creating a comfortable, welcoming, and homely experience for MVH guests and plays a central role in our hospitality operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily

  breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks

  for all in-house guests with consistent taste and portion standards.
• Cook a variety of

  North Indian vegetarian dishes

  ; ability to handle simple Continental or South Indian breakfast items is preferred.
• Maintain

  cleanliness and hygiene

  across the entire kitchen, utensils, and food storage areas.
• Manage daily prep work such as cutting vegetables, organizing ingredients, and maintaining inventory.
• Coordinate with the caretaker to prepare grocery lists and manage stock levels.
• Ensure

  timely meal service

  according to guest schedules and handle special dietary requests (Jain food, mild spice, kids’ meals, etc.).
• Follow food safety, waste management, and kitchen discipline protocols.
• Maintain respectful communication with guests and staff.
• Adhere to MVH’s leave policy:

  2 leaves per month + 10 paid leaves annually

Qualifications

• Experience:

  3–5 years of experience in vegetarian cooking (homestay, household, guest house, or hotel background preferred).

• Skills:

• Strong knowledge of North Indian veg cuisine.

• Ability to work independently and manage a small kitchen.
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to plan meals and manage inventory.
• Basic communication and polite guest interaction skills.

• Behavioral Traits:

• Clean, disciplined, punctual, and trustworthy.

• Calm, respectful, and willing to adapt to guest needs.

• Requirement:

  Full-time, on-premises, live-in stay is mandatory.
