You will assist the Chef and Senior Cook in food preparation, following recipes independently, and ensuring that all dishes are both nutritious and visually appealing. Additionally, you will assist in food preparation for hospital staff, guests at events, and cafeteria menu items, ensuring proper display and garnishing. You may also be required to work on the patient tray line, operate cafeteria equipment, and maintain cleanliness in the food preparation area. Basic computer skills are required and can be obtained through on-the-job training. Ideal candidates will have three years of experience as a cook or five years in Culinary Arts preparation. A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this full-time position with rotating shifts at Salem Hospital.
