Position Overview

The Controller of Examinations (CoE) is a statutory officer of the University responsible for the smooth and fair conduct of examinations, evaluation, and declaration of results in accordance with the UGC and University regulations.
The CoE will oversee all examination-related operations and ensure transparency, confidentiality, and integrity of the process.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all University examination processes — pre-examination, conduct, and post-examination phases.
• Prepare the examination calendar and schedules in consultation with Deans and Heads of Schools.
• Manage question paper setting, moderation, printing, secure storage, and distribution.
• Supervise conduct of examinations (theory, practical, viva, internal assessment) ensuring confidentiality and discipline.
• Oversee appointments and coordination of examiners, evaluators, moderators, and invigilators.
• Monitor evaluation, tabulation, result declaration, and issue of mark sheets, transcripts, and degree certificates.
• Maintain examination records and ensure adherence to retention and confidentiality policies.
• Implement automation and digitization in examination processes (ERP / MIS / online examination systems).
• Handle examination-related grievances, malpractices, revaluation, and result correction cases.
• Submit periodic reports to the Vice Chancellor on examination reforms, performance metrics, and process improvements.
• Ensure all examination practices comply with UGC Regulations 2018 & 2023, University Act, and Statutes of ADYPU.
• Supervise and lead the Examination Section team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all operations.
• Prepare for convocation, submission of data for convocation and medal awardee students.
• Conduct BOE Meeting and Maintain Records 

Essential Qualifications (As per UGC Norms)

Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 and above or with 8 years of service in Academic Level 12 and above including experience in educational administration,OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, OR 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

Age & Tenure

Tenure: 5 years or as per University Statutes (renewable based on performance).
Age Limit: As per UGC and University norms.
