We are hiring Consulting Editor for Chennai location.
As a Consulting Editor you are the first touchpoint of a newly submitted manuscript (or abstract).
Responsibilities:
The main role of a Consulting Editor is therefore to conduct initial checks to:
o Determine if the manuscript complies with the Editorial Policies and the Aims and Scope of the specific journal they have submitted under.
o If there is a more suitable journal based on the study criteria and topic, to offer this to the author
o Assess clinical trial papers for adherence to clinical trial guidelines and registration.
o Check whether the study has received the appropriate approval for human and/or animal ethics.
o Assess the paper for English language, related to the understanding of scientific ideas, so that the best version of the manuscript is sent through to peer review.
o Check the quality of the paper by investigating papers for salami-slicing or redundancy.
Desired Skills:
o Excellent English communication skills for effective interaction with all stakeholders.
o Prior experience in scientific publishing as an Editorial Assistant in any of the Peer review services (JEO/RSE/RI/Desk transfer editor)
o Publication history of their own would be an added advantage
o A good understanding of publishing workflow/scientific concepts
o A good understanding of best practices in medical research, publication ethics, research integrity and Clinical trials
o Ability to address complex challenges and identify opportunities for customer support improvement.
o Strong teamwork abilities for both independent and collaborative work environments.
o Proven capability to manage tasks independently, from coordination to execution and supervision.
Qualifications:
o M.Sc/PhD from any of the Lifesciences/Biotech disciplines
o M.Pharm
o M.Sc., Clinical and Nutrition,
o M.Sc., Dialysis Therapy,
o M.Sc., Echocardiography Technology
o M.Sc., Healthcare Management
o MPH (Master of Public Health)
o MPT (Master of Physiotherapy)
o MHA (Master of Health Administration)
o MMS (Master of Medical Science) in Physician Assistant
o B.Voc. Patient Care Management
o DNP Doctor of Nursing Practice
o M.Sc., Medical Laboratory Technology
