Job Description

Breakthrough is hiring for Consultants Youth Engagement at Lucknow, Ghazipur and Maharajganj locations. Through this opportunity, they will take ownership of local initiatives, prepare action plans to address key issues, and actively participate in the process of community mapping, identifying challenges, and analysing them using a gender lens. This approach will foster collective action and empower youth as change agents within their communities. They will report to the Block Coordinators at their respective locations.

The detailed role and responsibilities are mentioned below:

Key Responsibilities:

To engage with frontline workers (FLWs), PRI members, and other key stakeholders at the village level.
To facilitate community-level meetings to support the preparation of village development plans with a gender lens.
Identification of youth and formation of youth group to strategically engage them with program. Engaging 300 youth, 40 per GP.
Organize and lead regular meetings with local youth groups, Engage with around 200 youth
Organize and support in community-based youth events, campaign, awareness drive and mobilization.
Raise awareness on issues of gender equality and social norms, 30 % parents will be reached out.
Share key outcomes, impacts, and learnings from these processes with the broader community.
Support and conduct mapping exercises in minimum 10 communities.
Identify safe and unsafe zones, especially from the perspective of women and girls.
Monitor and follow up on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) findings.
Ensure issues identified during PRA activities are addressed through community discussions and actions.
Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation of all activities conducted in the field.
Prepare and submit data and regular reports as per the project s documentation and reporting requirements.
Undertake any other responsibilities or assignments given by the project supervisor or district coordination team, in alignment with the objectives of the GNLA project.
Should be aware and responsible for Breakthrough guidelines.

Specific Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required:

Candidates should hold an intermediate or graduation degree;
Minimum age of candidate should be 19 years;
Good Interpersonal skills to lead relationships with external stakeholders (youth families, students, schools, government etc.);
Good communication skills in Hindi /English and local languages;
Give support to the team and supervisors to organise Ratri Chupal, youth mela and other community activities.
