Consultant Psychiatrist

Position Summary:

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The role involves providing high-quality psychiatric care, developing individualized treatment plans, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
• Conduct detailed psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations.
• Diagnose mental health disorders based on DSM-5/ICD-10 criteria.
• Order and interpret relevant laboratory and psychological tests when needed.
• Treatment & Patient Management
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and monitor their effects and side effects.
• Provide psychotherapy or refer for psychological interventions as appropriate.
• Manage acute psychiatric emergencies and crisis interventions.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration
• Work closely with psychologists, psychiatric social workers, nurses, and other medical professionals.
• Participate in clinical case discussions and treatment planning meetings.
• Guide and mentor junior doctors, interns, and support staff.
• Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and medical regulations.
• Contribute to quality improvement and audit activities.
• Patient and Family Education
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Promote awareness and reduce stigma associated with mental illness.
• Professional Development
• Stay updated with current psychiatric research, medications, and therapies.
• Attend seminars, CMEs, and clinical training sessions regularly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: MBBS with MD/DNB in Psychiatry (recognized by NMC).
• Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience post-MD preferred (freshers may also apply).
• Licensure: Valid medical registration with the respective Medical Council.

Working Hours:

Full-time (As per hospital policy duties as required)

Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
