JOB SUMMARY

This role is central to the development of engaging and effective learning content. The Learning Multimedia Specialist collaborates closely with Learning Consultants, Instructional Designers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and produce a wide range of multimedia assets. This includes, but is not limited to, video, animation, interactive simulations, and graphics, all aligned with instructional design principles and specific learning objectives. The incumbent ensures consistent quality, technical accuracy, and accessibility of learning materials, utilizing up-to-date technologies and best practices for adult learning, while also mentoring peers in multimedia production within an L&D context.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from conception through delivery to design, develop, and produce a variety of multimedia learning assets (e.g., instructional videos, animated explainers, interactive modules, podcasts, graphics). This includes scoping projects, creating storyboards, scripting, and ensuring alignment with learning objectives and adult learning principles.
• Applies expertise in multimedia production techniques, including videography, audio recording, motion graphics, and interactive development, to create high-quality learning content. Selects and utilizes appropriate tools and technologies to achieve specific learning outcomes and enhance learner engagement.
• Assists in the development of instructional design documentation such as storyboards, scripts, and production guides for multimedia assets
• Manages the end-to-end multimedia production workflow, from conceptualization through final deployment within learning platforms (e.g., LMS), ensuring efficient processes, timely delivery, and adherence to technical specifications for optimal learner experience.
• Provide leadership and guidance, share knowledge and mentor other staff.
• Maintains and elevates quality and best practices through constructive feedback and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
• Document all procedures in order to standardize operations.
• Collaborates with Learning Consultants, Instructional Designers and other departments/stakeholders to provide expert guidance on pre-production and technology/methodology improvements. Offer advice about improvements for team production method and technology.
• Ensures all multimedia learning content adheres to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and internal brand guidelines

Required

• Bachelor''s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Digital Media Production (with a focus on learning), Multimedia Design, or a related field demonstrating strong multimedia development and instructional application skills.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in multimedia content development within a Learning & Development (L&D) or educational setting.
• Proven experience applying instructional design principles to multimedia creation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard multimedia development tools, including advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) and experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate).

Preferred

• Master''s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and content deployment.
• Experience with accessibility standards for multimedia content (e.g., WCAG).
• Demonstrated portfolio of multimedia learning solutions.
