Job Description

The Senior Data Scientist role is focused on delivering high-quality, technical reporting solutions as part of Quantium s central Business Intelligence team. The successful candidate will be delivering high impact work to senior stakeholders through their reporting managers, converting technical requirements into reliable, accurate reporting and insights.

Key responsibilities

Execute technical solutions for reporting requirements from senior stakeholders
Build and maintain automated processes and ETL pipelines
Provide ongoing technical support and enhancements for business-wide reporting systems
Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure successful delivery

Key activities

Execute technical solutions for reporting and analytics requests
- Interpret technical requirements provided by team manager on behalf of senior stakeholders
- Build and deliver reporting solutions using eg, SQL, Python, Power BI, and HTML coding
- Conduct thorough QA testing to ensure high quality and accuracy for senior stakeholders
- Establish realistic delivery timeframes and provide regular progress updates to manager
Implement technical enhancements and automation
- Maintain and enhance ETL pipelines and automated processes
- Optimise existing reporting systems for improved performance and efficiency
- Integrate new technologies and platforms into existing technical solutions
Maintain and monitor pipeline operations
- Perform ongoing maintenance of reporting pipelines and processes
- Respond promptly to errors or bugs affecting stakeholder reporting
- Escalate technical issues to internal team when required

Experience and education required

Approximately 4+ years experience in data analytics or data science environment
- Proven track record of delivering technical solutions fit for senior stakeholders
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments with multiple priorities
Technical skills and foundational data analytics experience:
- Experience preparing and manipulating data, conducting validation checks and quality assurance processes
- Understanding of database structures, relationships, and performance optimisation
- Experience building, testing and maintaining ETL processes, with knowledge
  of scheduling and monitoring pipeline operations
- Experience implementing technical solutions for process automation
Programming and visualisation tools:
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and automation
- HTML coding experience for web-based reporting solutions
- Power BI experience for creating interactive dashboards and reports
Experience with or strong willingness and interest to learn and work with AI tools
Excellent communication and tasks management skills:

Responsive communication style, particularly when working with urgent requests
Proven ability to provide detailed, clear progress updates
Proactive approach to identifying and communicating risks, issues, or delays
Strong self-management skills with ability to prioritise and deliver within committed timeframes
Experience managing own workload and meeting delivery commitments independently
